Welcome to Life Stories

Tada! The very first issue of our very first newsletter.

‘Life Stories’ hopes to inform and amuse you with celebrity video clips, articles and images from YLP and the wider worlds of film and TV, humour, surviving the pandemic and anything else we want to get off our chest.

Wacky parties, how-to pieces, really ugly formal wear and, naturally, some fun memories from 35 years of making movies and meeting some pretty amazing people.

Sure, we’ll engage in a little shameless self-promotion, but will try to keep it to a minimum.

Why ‘Life Stories’? Because our primary pursuit is chronicling and celebrating people’s lives.

Hi. I’m Bob Pomerantz. My colleague, Lori Ference, thinks I need to tell you about myself. Well, I once worked as a jail guard. Am fairly short. Think Sgt. Bilko was the best sitcom ever. Am first cousins with funnyman Hart Pomerantz, who is still hilarious and still in touch with his former comedy partner, Lorne Michaels, and still way older and shorter than me. Was on staff at the Toronto Star in my 20s and 30s while also freelancing for National Lampoon magazine. Started making tribute videos in 1986 and am still at it–even during COVID. I’m triple-vaxed.
